What We Believe
Our Mission... At Bethel United Methodist Church our mission is to grow Jesus' Church by making disciples of Christ through "Open Doors, Open Hearts and Open Minds."
Our Vision... To invite people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and one another through inviting, worshiping, learning, loving, and serving.
Our Belief... We are committed to the basics of Christianity and to a Christian lifestyle. United Methodists share a common heritage with other Christians. We hold a conviction that God has mercy and love for all people. We have faith in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ.
How Do I Join?
If you have any questions regarding how
to join Bethel, we will gladly answer any questions or give any information regarding our church. When you are ready to join,
let us know by any
of the following:
|
Can I still join Bethel if I am not Methodist?
Absolutely! Many people that join our church are from other faiths.
There are more similarities in most main-stream Christian religions
than differences and we focus on those similarities.
If you have been baptized, we accept your baptism and your belief in
Jesus Christ
and will warmly welcome you.
What if I have not been baptized?
If you have not been baptized, but would like to join Bethel,
we’d love to help you take this important step. If you believe in
Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Savior, we invite you to be
part of a brief ceremony of this outward symbol of God’s
inward love for us.
Do I have to go to classes to join Bethel?
The only prerequisite for joining our church is your belief
in Jesus Christ. We encourage you to grow in your faith by
getting involved in some of our many Bible or Sunday
school classes, as well as finding a place to serve in some way.
We really do want to provide opportunities to help you grow
in your relationship with Christ but it’s up to you to take the steps!
What is expected of me when I become a member?
We ask that you commit to supporting the vision to invite people
into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through
worshipping, learning, loving and serving.
This means we encourage:
-
Weekly Worship
-
Regular Attendence in Bible Study, Sunday School or some other form of learning
